Checking a retailer established in Switzerland
Switzerland is outside the European Union, so buying from a Swiss retailer is an import: the European legal guarantee does not apply automatically, and the parcel may be presented to customs. That is what changes most for a buyer, well before any question about the product itself.

What changes when buying outside the European Union
A purchase from a seller established outside the Union is governed by the contract rather than by the European directive on the sale of goods. Customs duties and import VAT are owed by the recipient above the applicable thresholds, and the fourteen-day right of withdrawal under European law is not automatically available. These points should appear in the seller's terms.
The Swiss register and the IDE identifier
Swiss companies carry a unique identification number, the IDE, which is publicly searchable. A retailer that does not publish it cannot be verified by that route, which the profiles in this directory state explicitly rather than passing over in silence.
Each profile states what could be verified and what could not. Missing data is flagged as such, never filled in by inference.
